Edith Cavell Meadows, Jasper
Our trip to Jasper in July 2011 was the first in over a decade, and the last time I did this hike was nearly fifteen years before. It had been way too long.
The trail to the meadows at Mount Edith Cavell is the number one best day hike anywhere in the mountains in western Canada. It has lakes, glaciers, creeks, mountain views, meadows full of flowers, and ridges to explore. You can take a couple of hours up and back or you can take a whole day.
I first did this hike in my first year in the mountains in 1980. Since then Angel Glacier has melted back a fair bit and now looks like a double amputee.
I’ll let the photos speak for themselves.
